“People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own souls.
One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.” – Carl Jung.
Meeting the Shadow, Embracing the Whole
Each person's path to counselling is unique. Whatever brings you here, I believe that our struggles are powerful opportunities for growth.
The pain we feel is pointing us toward parts of ourselves that are asking for care, attention, understanding and expression.
In counselling, we explore and bring to light the hidden beliefs and fears that quietly shape our lives.
This work can feel vulnerable, but it’s also incredibly empowering.
Healing happens when we learn to embrace all aspects of ourselves — both light and dark — and live from a place of self-acceptance and integrity.
A Safe Space That Supports and Challenges
I offer a warm, grounded presence and a therapeutic relationship built on trust.
Together, we’ll explore patterns of shame, anxiety, guilt, or disconnection — and help you reconnect with your creativity, joy, and inner strength.
My Training
I’ve been a practicing counsellor since 2005 after completing a three-year Transpersonal Counselling Psychology program.
I'm a Master Therapeutic Counsellor (MTC) and Registered Counselling Supervisor (RCS) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists (ACCT).
Methods I Draw From:
• Systemic Family Constellations
• Relational Somatic Therapy
• Cathartic and Holotropic Breathwork
• Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)
• Inherited Family Trauma
• Family Systems Theory
• Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
• Motivational Interviewing
• Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
• Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
Holding Onto Yourself in Relationship
I believe my primary role as a therapist is to help each person stay true to themselves while maintaining a connection with their partner.
Many relationships start with an intense feeling of closeness — an experience of “you complete me.”
As your partner becomes more important to you, it's natural to start adapting, sometimes sacrificing parts of yourself to keep the relationship going.
Though often done with kindness, this self-abandonment can lead to a quiet, growing tension. Eventually, thoughts like “Who am I?” or “I’m losing myself” begin to surface.
A Call for Growth, Not Failure
Instead of facing our own discomfort, we may blame our partner — calling them too controlling or emotionally distant.
We might pull away, become resentful or withhold love.
But this isn’t a sign that the relationship is broken — it’s a wake-up call for transformation.
Every long-term relationship reaches moments like these. They are invitations to grow — not just as a couple, but as individuals.
Courageous Change Starts with One Person
Even when a relationship feels stuck, it only takes one person to begin shifting the dynamic.
This is the work of differentiation: holding onto your values, your voice, and your sense of self while remaining in connection. It means:
• Standing up for what matters to you
• Soothing yourself when your partner can’t
• Feeling your anxiety, but not letting it control your choices
• Staying steady, even when pressured to conform
Meeting Each Other Where It’s Hard
My role is to help you navigate these vulnerable spaces — the moments when it's hardest to show up honestly.
I support couples in finding the courage to be fully seen and to see each other with fresh, compassionate eyes.
The ultimate goal is true intimacy — where both people feel deeply known, respected, and connected
Whether you are feeling stuck, lost, overwhelmed , or simply longing for deeper connection, we begin right where you are.
I don't offer quick fixes or one-size-fits-all advice.
Instead, I walk alongside you as a guide - gently helping you explore the parts of yourself that may feel hidden, hurt or unheard.
We will work to uncover what truly matters to you, reconnect with your inner wisdom and support your growth in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.
My healing journey began in 1999, during a time when I felt empty and disconnected—despite appearing strong and capable on the outside. No amount of effort or positivity could touch the loneliness I felt inside. The strategies I relied on to stay safe were also keeping me numb, disconnected, and alone.
Things began to change when I allowed myself to be vulnerable and speak honestly with others. It wasn’t easy, but it opened the door to real connection and helped me let go of shame I didn’t even know I was carrying. In that space, I discovered something powerful: love and wholeness had been within me all along.
I didn’t set out to become a counsellor. I simply wanted to grow up and grow out of my self-imposed prison, and live with more honesty and depth. It was in facing the dark and shadowy corners of my inner world that I found the tools and insight to support others on their own paths.
Today, I guide with compassion, honesty, and deep respect for the challenges we all face. Healing can be messy—but it’s also sacred. And you're not alone in it. I continue walking my own path, and I’m here to walk beside you on yours.

"Angela is a natural helper/healer. I have known her as a teacher in a counselling course, and as a facilitator in personal growth workshops. But mostly, I have grown to love her as a friend. Her presence always brings me moments of joy and delight—her openness, clarity and subtle intelligence are borne on a gentle and uncommonly intuitive personality. I would encourage anyone to go for it with her....in what surely will be a fruitful and awesome experience!"
Tile Contractor & Author
"I’ve known Angela for over 30 years and have had the privilege of working alongside her in acute psychiatry and in personal growth workshops. She brings a rare blend of deep understanding of the human dilemma, intuitive wisdom and creative, gentle guidance to support people to move from pain to purpose in their lives. Angela combines joy, light, and – above all – hope to everything she does. She walks the path with those she helps, never guiding anyone to places she hasn’t courageously gone herself."
